Michelle Martinez

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #146310

As a therapist, I focus on helping individuals navigate identity, relationships, and the transition into young adulthood. I specialize in addressing unrealistic thoughts and self-worth struggles, drawing on my training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients reframe negative thinking. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Psychology from UCLA and an Master's degree in Psychology from Chapman University, with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy. Currently, I’m pursuing a doctorate in counseling with a focus on trauma and crisis. My own experiences with grief, relational challenges, and growing up with a family member who struggled with mental health have shaped my empathetic approach. Additionally, my work in ministry has deepened my understanding of the value of community and support systems.

I believe in a client-centered, spiritually sensitive approach to counseling that integrates therapy and faith in a way that’s tailored to each individual. I approach therapy as a compassionate, gradual process where celebrating small victories is essential. Rooted in the belief that we are all made in God’s image and have inherent worth, I aim to promote the well-being of my clients, walking with them through their journey toward growth and healing. While we strive to be more Christ-like, I believe none of us can do it alone; having a supportive team is key I’m here to walk alongside you, helping to build that support and encouraging growth at a pace that feels right for you.
