Couples Therapy

You're looking for better communication and connection in your relationship...

…because this relationship wasn't supposed to feel like having a roommate or just circling around the same conflicts again and again. No matter what you try, you end up in the same patterns. You are both frustrated being stuck in a loop, and it affects your children, work, and health. You're missing out on having partnership in your relationship, you thought it would be different.

We understand how helpless you may feel, uncertain about where to go from here. We want to join you and your partner where you are and share in your journey to creating a new and different relationship together. Our therapists will assist you to unlock old patterns and help you discover new ways of communicating and connecting.

Couples therapy begins with the first few sessions as an opportunity to get to know you and your partner as both individuals and as a couple.

This period of assessment and evaluation allows the therapist to learn from you, because your story is unique. We will learn about your history and current patterns of interactions. What is your perception of what is happening?

Once we have a better idea of your areas of concern, your therapist will create a treatment plan to help you learn new skills of communicating and connecting.

Our therapists pursue training in a variety of approaches to working with couples in relationships, including Gottman Couples Method, Restoration Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy.

Using their training and expertise, your therapist will guide you through learning, practicing, and mastering new relationship skills.

Ask your therapist during consultation about their specific approach to working with couples.
