At Emmaus, we know families come in all shapes and sizes: blended, divorced, and single parents.

The first few sessions of family therapy is an opportunity to get to know you and your family as individuals and in its entirety.

This allows your therapist to understand your family dynamic and learn your history and current pattern of interactions.

After establishing a deeper understanding of your family’s areas of concern your therapist will create a treatment plan to help you individually and collectively learn new skills for communicating and connecting.

Using their training and expertise, your therapist will guide you through learning, practicing, and mastering new relationship skills and management of communication of issues including divorce, loss, or other hardship your family weathers together.

Our therapists pursue training in a variety of approaches, so be sure to ask your therapist during consultation about their specific approach to working with families like yours.
