Martha “Makeda” Murray is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. She is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), as well as the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Makeda completed her undergraduate studies at California State University Hayward earning a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. She went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary. She is currently obtaining a Master of Business Administration.
Makeda enjoys cooking, writing, and spending quality time with family and friends at the beach. She is passionate about walking alongside others as they endeavor to overcome life’s challenges and live full abundant lives. Makeda brings a holistic approach into her therapy practice; as she desires to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where the love and peace of Christ resides. She specializes in working with children/youth and families facing a variety of challenging issues; including trauma, adjustment, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, communication, and relationship issues. Makeda also works with couples who desire to strengthen their relationship, overcome obstacles, or need support with creating an amicable separation/divorce. Makeda uses a variety of modalities to help clients reach their goals including, CBT, Narrative, and integrative/holistic approaches; with an understanding and appreciation that each client is unique.
