Kaila is from Huntington Beach, CA. She is finishing up her last year in graduate school for Counseling at Concordia University Irvine. Kaila received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Concordia. She prioritized and appreciated the integration of faith in her college education because she is very passionate about seeing God’s children through his eyes both spiritually and psychologically. She is also a former collegiate and professional beach volleyball athlete, where she developed a new depth of empathy for those who struggle with the pressures of performance, perfectionism, fear of failure, self-worth, and the consuming trap of comparison. Kaila enjoys working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She has a passion for mentoring young women who are faced with the adversities that life brings such as anxiety, depression, stress, spiritual identity, life transitions, and interpersonal relations. Kaila firmly believes that God, “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Eph. 3:20). She sees that through this power, God uses therapy to give people the time and space that they deserve to be still, give attention to themselves, and follow God’s leading toward the client’s healing and transformation. In her free time, she enjoys surfing, camping, and spending time with her friends, family, and pup.
