Doris Lopez earned a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. She served 9 years as a Marriage & Family Therapist Intern at Capital Christian Counseling Center in Sacramento CA and as a counselor for Mercy Ministries, a live-in treatment home for women, in Lincoln, CA.
Doris works with individuals, couples, and families who are dealing with crisis and addictions. As an MA/MFT, Doris has hands-on experience helping clients in the following areas: premarital and marital counseling, divorce mediation, parenting instruction, blended families, depression and anxiety, grief counseling, co-dependency, domestic violence and abuse, pornography and sexual addictions, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, and transgender (LGBT) counseling. She counsels clients from victim programs, group members from various ethnic backgrounds, and provides benevolent counseling services to low income and the homeless. In addition, she provides career counseling for those seeking employment or who are making a career change.
Doris is a certified alcohol/drug addiction specialist with access to a network of recovery treatment programs in which to place clients. She is actively involved in community outreach programs and is an experience speaker at women’s groups, Celebrate Recovery programs, and other venues. She also serves as Marketing Director for Emmaus Road Christian Counseling in Roseville.
